Title: | Distance education: the state of the art in career and technical education |
Author: | Zirkle, C.J. |
Abstract: | Technology is changing the methods by which education is delivered. Students enrolled in distance education, particularly those programmes using information and communication technologies, can have almost the same instructional contact and interaction as students in traditional settings (Galusha 1998). These technological changes have also driven the growth of distance learning opportunities, as students who are time bound due to job or travel difficulties or place bound due to geographic location can now access courses and degree programmes at their convenience (Zirkle 2002a). |
