Tonight is the formal opening of Osgoode Professional Development’s (OPD) newly refurbished premises on floor 26 of 1 Dundas St West, downtown Toronto. Now the view inside will match the stunning views outside to Lake Ontario and the Toronto Islands, Algonquin Island, and all the way west and south to Mississauga, glimpsed through a foreground of glass and steel towers.
It’s one of the centres for the Sim Client Initiative, and in recognition, and since I couldn’t be there in person, I put together a Zoom slide show and presentation to be looped in one of the classrooms during the celebrations as an example of OPD’s innovations. Slides are in the usual place, under the Slides tab above, with notes of my talk under the slides. Already we’ve had queries from regulators about the use of our sim clients; and I hope to be discussing the ethical resonances of their use in both the JD and professional legal education at the CALE (Canadian Association for Legal Ethics) Conference in the University of Windsor later this year.
